Established in August 1964, the department has a long history and a strong academic tradition. It offers a complete academic structure, including undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. Alumni have achieved outstanding success across various sectors of society.
In terms of teaching, the department emphasizes a balanced approach between theory and practice. It offers essential theoretical courses alongside diverse and practical ones, while also integrating values, wisdom, and attitudes that support students’ personal and social development.
It was the first mechanical engineering department in Taiwan to receive international accreditation from the Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET), making its degrees internationally recognized. The department continues to advance international engineering education standards and actively promotes global exchange programs and international study tracks.
